Then there are the other treatment options available known as alternative treatments in this sections there are herbal medications, homeopathic medication and home remedies. Home remedies have been gaining popularity among acne sufferers as they are easy to apply and safe to use. These remedies have been used for many years now so they are based on human observation rather then research. The following are some of the most popular acne remedies that are used commonly.

Applying Toothpaste before sleeping:
Toothpaste has been very effective when it comes to treating acne. It is effective even in certain cases of severe acne. It is effective because most toothpaste have anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients. This means that not only does it help cure acne but it also can be used to provide quick relief to the person suffering from the irritation of acne. You should apply toothpaste(not gel) on your face before going to bed and wash it in the morning you will be amazed by the results.

Honey solution:
Honey has been used pretty commonly to treat acne and other skin conditions. Honey is used as it is a strong antioxidant that helps to remove free radicals from your skin as these free radicals cause acne. Make a solution of honey with water or milk and apply it on the face for an hour. Wash it down throughly after the hour has passed. You will notice the difference almost immediately.

Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is also very widely used acne remedy. Lemon juice contains various vitamin C and other acidic substances that have anti-bacterial properties. lemon juice is particularly effective in the case of blackheads as it dries them quickly. Rub the lemon on the effected area after you have cut it in half. Leave the juice on the face for half an hour to and hour. Dont try this remedy if you have sensitive or dry skin.

Different people react differently to treatment and same goes for remedies. Check what remedy best suits you and stick with it. You can also drink carrot juice or apply aloe vera as both are also effective remedies.
